Medicine for Nigeria's Flood Victims

"Nigeria is experiencing its worst flooding in over a decade which has displaced millions and killed hundreds with over 200,000 houses either partially and fully damaged. The flood has disrupted trade and road transport leaving many more stranded and in need of help. The aftermath of the flood which is often ignored is just as dangerous, as flood waters serve as breeding grounds for mosquitoes and contaminate boreholes and wells. According to UNICEF, more than 1.5 million children are at risk of waterborne diseases and malnutrition. Drug-Aid Africa is working to provide essential medicines to the different Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp set up in the different states affected. We have begun in Bayelsa state with over 50 IDP camps and our next planned outreach will be in Anambra state which is said to be the worst hit."
